March 20th, 2012

I began working on documentation of the youth artist show that has been in the A.N Bush Gallery for the past couple of months. I used a ladder to capture images of the majority of the young artist's works. Close up photos as well as general display photos were included in the documentation process. I also helped determine what artists SAA represents had full bio's on record as well as images and artist statements (as seen in photo).

For my internship shift today I worked on documentation of the Construct show that was recently dismantled. I took photographs of the majority of the work included in the show and began to edit them using Photoshop.

Today I helped at the SAA by organizing storage spaces. I also was there while another intern Marcus was installing the intern show. In the photo I am carrying a box of bubble wrap and standing infront of my painting Metacognition. I also helped locate certain artist's pieces for inventory.

Here I am on 3-14-12 touching up pedestals for the youth art show with some white paint. As I was working students from The School for the Deaf came in and it was a pleasure to meet them and see them very excited to view their artwork within a gallery setting.

On 3-7-12 I helped hang art for the current show at SAA of youth artists from different schools within and around Salem. The show displays a large amount of all kinds of art from drawing to book art.

On the weekend of March 3-4 I participated with a mosaic class. It was nice to help out as well as make a piece myself. I helped the instructor Lynn Takata with all of her supplies including tiles as well as saws and other tool. She was a great instructor and a really nice woman.

02-22-12 through the 25th Preparation for the ClayBall

The first photo is of my internship shift on the 22nd. I made decorations for the Clay Ball, the clay ball is an annual fundraiser for SAA and involves auctions and photo booths and dinner! It was a really pleasant experience with around 600 people I believe. It was really interesting to see the process of pulling something of this magnitude off. This year's theme was 60's and the above photo is of my girlfriend Amber and I at the hautebooth.com photo booth!
